IT Architect and Systems Administrator with over 20 years of experience
I specialize in designing, deploying, and maintaining IT infrastructure of any complexity, helping businesses build reliable, secure, and scalable systems. Beyond infrastructure, I work as a web developer: I build websites — including custom themes and modules — and independently design and maintain Linux-based server infrastructure, ensuring the security, performance, and fault tolerance of web projects.
I combine technical expertise with a business-minded approach to deliver real results and drive company growth.

Featured Projects
Completed projects and achievements from years of practice.
Systems Administration
Servers, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V/Proxmox), Active Directory, networking, IP telephony, and corporate services. Zabbix monitoring, information security and data protection, backup.
Process Automation
Building reporting modules and automating business processes: system integration, data processing and exports, scheduled runs with notifications. PowerShell, Python, Bash, SQL, VBA, REST API.
Enterprise Network Lab (MikroTik)
MikroTik hEX S (RB760iGS) and CRS326-24G-2S+RM managed switch. 802.1Q VLANs with inter-VLAN routing, OSPF dynamic routing, least-privilege firewall/NAT, WireGuard VPN, and CHR virtual routers on Proxmox.
Two Monitoring Stacks — Zabbix and Prometheus
Built two monitoring systems for a real fleet (cloud server + home Proxmox hypervisor + virtual machines): Zabbix 7.0 with a custom Vue/Nuxt dashboard, and Prometheus + Grafana. Both with public demos and internal-infrastructure masking. WireGuard, BFF architecture, Let's Encrypt. Zabbix dashboard → · Grafana →
johngorn.ru — portfolio
This site: a custom WordPress theme built from scratch — markup, PHP/MySQL, responsive design, and deployment on a self-managed Linux server.
Video surveillance — full cycle
Full cycle: from a self-hosted equipment online store to on-site installation and configuration. Store built on Medusa + Next.js — catalog, faceted filters, YooKassa payments, self-hosted deployment. Plus turnkey design and installation: IP/analog, recorders, networking and PoE, remote access. Hikvision, Dahua. Open store →
Self-Hosted Messenger — Matrix with Calls
A federated self-hosted messenger on the Matrix protocol: Synapse and PostgreSQL in a Proxmox LXC container, published through nginx with Let's Encrypt on a cloud edge node and a WireGuard tunnel to the home server. End-to-end encryption, invite-only registration, federation with other Matrix servers. One-on-one calls and group video conferences via the MatrixRTC stack: LiveKit SFU, coturn (TURN) and JWT authorization. Nightly backups with restore testing, monitored by Zabbix and Grafana. Open →
Telegram Bots
Four production bots in Python (aiogram 3): a system alert bot (backups, Zabbix, Grafana), a public info bot with a Telegram Mini App, an online-store bot, and a SaaS notification bot. Telegram API access from Russia via a custom proxy layer; alert delivery over SSH with forced-command.
uptime — Website Monitoring as a Service
My first SaaS: users sign in via Telegram, add their own sites and get availability, SSL and speed checks every 5 minutes with Telegram alerts. Under the hood — a multi-tenant architecture (Nuxt 3 + PostgreSQL in an LXC container), a probe worker in the cloud, public status pages with an uptime badge, a dashboard with incident history. SSRF protection, rate-limiting, CI/CD and backups with restore testing. Open →
Infrastructure as Code
9 idempotent Ansible roles with CI. A heterogeneous Proxmox fleet (containers and virtual machines) and two monitoring stacks are described as code: provisioning, configuration, monitoring, alerting, SSH hardening, and backups are reproducible from the repository, checked in CI (ansible-lint), and version-controlled. Repeat runs make zero changes; a service is restored from its role in seconds; production changes go through preview and rollback.
My Home Lab
A lab where I test new technologies and solutions before deploying them in production. Hover over a node to see what it does.
Infrastructure Status
This site runs on fault-tolerant infrastructure I designed and maintain myself: a primary server in the cloud and a hot standby in my home lab — with database replication and automatic failover.
What I Automate
Scripts and systems take over the routine — freeing up time for engineering work.
Automation Lab
Tools and solutions I build and use in my work. Each area comes with a detailed breakdown, examples, and screenshots.
Telegram Bot
The bot sends alerts about server and site status, runs commands, and generates reports right in the chat.
